Adult Ministry

Just a few Adult Ministry Ideas
- Develop a buddy system – phone regularly and discuss current affairs, find out how the person is doing, etc. The buddy knows whom to contact in case of sickness or special needs.
- Develop a support group for adults caring for their own parents.
- Present a program on "Dealing With Stress" due to changes in our lives – death of a spouse, retirement, job loss, illness, move to a new community, etc.
- Provide a bus tour during the holiday season to view lights and decorations. Eat supper together before or after the tour.
- "Show and Tell" your hobbies or trips.
- Set up a Senior Day Camp – include Bible study, crafts, fishing, golf, "how to" classes, hiking.
- Begin a "walking club."
- Set up a secret pal or pen pal program between senior adults and either high school youth or school age children.
- Have a banquet at the end of the year.
- Begin a kitchen band to perform on request.
- Provide a health fair.
- Establish a computer training class for senior citizens using donated or old computers.
- Have senior citizens donate free car services to members who can’t afford to pay – oil changes, rotate tires, etc.
- Pet walking while people are at work
- Workshop on will and estate planning
- Dealing with blindness.
- AARP services
- Have police speak on scams and safety issues specifically directed at senior adults.
