On February 25, 2012 the North Wisconsin District will host a day-long
stewardship workshop titled:
"Your
life...His resources!"
The featured speaker is Rev. Wayne Knolhoff, Director of Stewardship for
the LCMS. Breakout sessions will cover stewardship in a broad
scope, from health and wellness, personal and corporate financial management,
and time and talent to the how-to's of leading a stewardship process at your
congregation. Experienced presenters will cover these
topics in the hour long breakouts.
The workshop will be from 9:00 a.m. to
2:30 p.m. at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church
in Weston. Registration materials will
be available on the district website in January or
you may register by calling the North
Wisconsin District at 715-845-8241. Cost for the conference is $20 per
participant, or $50 for 3 or more from the same church.
Rev. Wayne Knolhoff is taking a new approach to integrating Biblical
stewardship in congregations. Faith Aflame is a congregational process
designed to change the stewardship culture. The vision for
stewardship in The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod is that the stewardship
culture in every congregation would be one where every professional church
worker, every man, women, and child would know that they are God's steward by
His grace, live as His disciples, and manage the gifts He entrusts to them with
joy and generosity-all so that His purposes would be accomplished and His
mission enhanced. Check out the site at faithaflame.lcms.org
Rev. Knolhoff was born and raised
on a farm near Carlyle, Illinois,
and graduated from Concordia College in River
Forest, Illinois, in
1972. He taught in Lutheran schools in Bayside, New York,
and Grafton, Wisconsin
before entering Concordia Seminary, St.
Louis in 1979. He served as pastor of Zion Lutheran
Church in Humboldt, Iowa
from 1983 to 1991, when he became the Iowa District East Executive for
Stewardship, Missions, Evangelism and Church Extension. In 1995, Wayne received the Master of Parish Education Degree from Concordia College
in Seward, Nebraska
and in January, 2001 installed as Mission
and Ministry Facilitator for the Missouri District. In February, 2008 Wayne was installed as
the Director of Stewardship for The Lutheran
Church-Missouri Synod.
